KOBIA: 23% of entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan are women

Around 23% of entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan are women, Report informs, citing the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy.

The agency notes that the contribution of female entrepreneurs, particularly in sectors such as services, trade, and industry, to sustainable economic development and job creation is steadily growing. Recently, a female entrepreneur launched a preschool educational institution in Ganja, with additional branches operating in Baku, Sumgayit, and Khirdalan. State support for the establishment of the preschool network was provided by KOBIA.

The agency assisted the entrepreneur with business documentation, coordination with state agencies, and other business development aspects. Currently, over 40 employees work across all branches of the preschool institution. In doing so, the female entrepreneur actively supports women's employment. Looking ahead, she is taking steps to increase the workforce and expand operations into other regions.
