Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has invited Slovenian companies to explore the existing business and investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Bayramov made the announcement during his speech at the Azerbaijan-Slovenia business forum.

The minister noted that Azerbaijan creates an attractive environment for international business with its favorable geostrategic position, leading economy in the region, modern infrastructure, and strong state support: "We invite Slovenian business circles to actively participate in the restoration and reconstruction work being carried out in Azerbaijan's Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur regions, especially in terms of exploring investment projects.

When discussing the expansion of comprehensive cooperation between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, we cannot overlook the potential of the tourism sector. The rich cultural heritage, magnificent nature, and historical monuments of both countries create extensive opportunities for mutual tourism."

Bayramov further stated that expanding economic and trade relations between the countries, as well as not limiting cooperation to just capital cities, developing interregional business connections will be beneficial in terms of diversifying cooperation and promoting mutual investments: "Over the past 20 years, Azerbaijan has played an important role in ensuring Europe's energy security as a reliable partner."

The minister expressed hopes that such business forums will be held regularly, and in the future, both general and thematic forums will give new impetus to the growth of bilateral trade and mutual investments.

Bayramov also pointed out that although next year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, the friendship and cooperation between the countries is not limited to the last 30 years:

"Eighty years ago, Azerbaijan's heroic son Mehdi Huseyn, known by the name Mikhaylo in partisan battles, laid the foundation for fraternal relations between our peoples by sacrificing his life for the liberation of Slovenia from fascist occupation."

He emphasized that the recent high-level contacts between Azerbaijan and Slovenia, deepening political dialogue, continuous growth of economic cooperation, joint working group meetings, and business forums clearly demonstrate the parties' mutual interest and strong political will to develop cooperation in a wide range of areas.

"We believe that we should use the Working Group meetings as a key mechanism to strengthen our cooperation in various fields such as trade, investment, energy, connectivity, information technology, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, tourism, education, and culture,” Bayramov highlighted, adding “We must mobilize all necessary joint efforts for the full implementation of decisions made within the framework of these discussions. For businesspeople, today's business forum is a very important platform in terms of establishing direct contacts between representatives of our companies and business circles, identifying mutually beneficial areas of cooperation, and implementing appropriate projects."
