Food products takes high percentage in Azerbaijan’s import

Baku. 23 January. REPORT.AZ/ Import of food products to Azerbaijan amounted 1.322 bln USD, featuring 34.98% rise in annual comparison.
Report informs, referring to State Customs Committee, import of meat rose 94.49% to make 38.622 mln USD. Here are figures reflecting import of some other products: dairy butter/oil - 48.384 mln USD (2.2-fold rise), fruit and vegetables - 135.005 mln USD (2.3-fold rise), tea - 44.735 mln USD (2.7-fold rise), dairy - 8.034 mln USD (34.4% rise). Import of grains dropped by 0.6% and amounted 295.018 mln USD.
Notably, quantitative import of grain rose 18.2 % in annual comparison to make up 1.6 mln tons in 2016.
Food products feature 15.5% in Azerbaijan’s overall import in 2016 against 10.6% in 2015.
