Uzbekistan's Fergana region interested in processing Azerbaijani agricultural products

There is great potential for economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Fergana region of Uzbekistan, the Deputy Governor of the region, Nuriddin Mamajanov, said at the Third Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum held in Baku, Report informs.
According to Mamajanov, in the five months of this year, the trade turnover between the Fergana region of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan amounted to $3.3 million: "However, we have great potential to increase trade turnover and investments. In August last year, an agreement was reached on the implementation of four new investment projects worth a total of $144 million within the framework of the investment forum held in Tashkent."
Mamajanov noted that the main direction of cooperation between the Fergana region and Azerbaijan is the processing of agricultural products intended for export to European markets:
“In addition, today we are successfully working with individual Azerbaijani companies in the vast Chinese market. We have also started negotiations with the Azerbaijani company Azersun on a project for the processing of their products. The initial cost of the project is $140 million and negotiations are currently ongoing.”
