Azerbaijan demonstrates an adequate approach to global economic challenges and new development requirements, Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashirli said at the "3rd Think Tank Forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation" in Baku, Report informs.
The deputy minister said that Azerbaijan, thanks to its advantageous location, has extensive experience in implementing transit projects.
Bashirli noted that as part of the implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Strategy for 2022-2026, work is underway in Azerbaijan to adopt a digital economy strategy.
The document aims to transform all spheres of the economy, based on aspects of business, society, and the state.
The goal is to strengthen Azerbaijan's position in the digital economy in the region and on the international arena.
"Work also continues on the 'Digital Silk Road' project, which will form a digital telecommunications corridor between Europe and Asia through Azerbaijan. It involves laying a fiber-optic communication line along the bottom of the Caspian Sea from West to East and is an important project that allows equal use of digitalization results at the global level. Azerbaijan has extensive experience in implementing transit projects due to its advantageous location between East and West, North and South," emphasized Bashirli.
