Baku hosts meeting of Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council

Baku hosted the latest meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry.

The event brought together over 90 member organizations and institutions operating in various sectors of the economy, including agriculture, mechanical engineering, petrochemicals, banking, logistics, and others, alongside official representatives.

In his speech, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized the development of cooperation between the two countries and highlighted the significance of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council's partnership mechanism in the context of diversifying economic and trade relations.

It was noted that the ongoing efforts to implement joint investment projects and realize the bilateral trade potential further strengthen ties between business circles, contributing to the economic development of both countries.

Samad Gurbanov, providing information about the activities of the council established by the business circles of the two countries, spoke about the work done by the organization to develop trade and business relations between the two countries and support the interests of the Azerbaijani business community.

In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, elections were held for the Board of the Council. Emin Agalarov, founder of Agalarov Development Company, was elected as the Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council, while Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), and Gambar Bananyarli, Director of Nardaran Invest LLC, were elected as Deputy Chairmen.

Emin Agalarov, the newly elected Chairman of the Board, emphasized the importance of the council's activities in intensifying business dialogue among entrepreneurs and expanding partnership opportunities for the business circles of both countries.

During the event, Samad Gurbanov was presented with an Honorary Decree for his contribution to the development of economic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.

The Business Council, operating since 2016, actively cooperates with Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development, and other relevant government agencies and public organizations of the two countries.
