Azerbaijani company to transport cargo to Brazil for Formula E

Silk Way West, headquartered in Baku, will be one of the airlines responsible for transporting equipment from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) and Formula E teams, which will be held for the first time in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on March 24-25, 2023, Report informs via Aeroin.

At least two Boeing 747-400Fs of the Azerbaijani airline have already been allocated for the transfer of all equipment to Brazil, but more aircraft may be included in the mission. They will land in Campinas, Sao Paulo state, bringing the equipment from Cape Town, where the previous tournament takes place.

The choice of Campinas Airport is a tradition for FIA competitions of the last decades. The infrastructure of the cargo terminal and the special operations organized by the airport are necessary to ensure the efficiency of the work.

Sao Paulo will host the seventh round of the World Electric Car Championship, which will switch to third-generation (Gen3) cars for the first time this season.

Twelve teams will start the ninth season, including three new ones - McLaren Racing, Maserati and ABT.
