A political decision has been made to establish a trade representation office of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said at the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Interregional Forum in Baku, according to Report.
"I want to announce the decision to create a Trade Representation of Azerbaijan in Uzbekistan. This step will become a key tool for promoting our exports, expanding investment cooperation, establishing direct business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries, and implementing joint regional projects," he noted.
The minister emphasized that the Treaty on Allied Relations, signed by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in August last year, has become an important vector defining long-term bilateral ties and regional policy: "The year 2024 was marked by significant events in the development of Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan partnership. In May, the II Interregional Forum was held in Guba, during which twin city agreements were signed between the cities of Fuzuli and Gulistan, Bilasuvar and Termez, Mingachevir and Namangan. I especially want to emphasize that most joint projects are being implemented precisely in the regions of our countries. This is a clear indication that interregional cooperation today not only plays a supportive role in advancing national priorities but also acts as an independent mechanism for sustainable and mutually beneficial development."
