Azerbaijan is set to introduce specific customs concessions starting from next year, Azer Amiraslanov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising Committee, said at the Customs-Business Forum held in Baku, Report informs.

"During the recent parliamentary discussions on the 2025 budget package, customs policies and tariffs have been revisited. Starting from the next year, the customs system will not only fulfill its fiscal mission but also promote the industrialization process and projects implemented within the framework of public-private partnerships through customs concessions. Concrete customs concessions will be applied in this regard," Amiraslanov emphasized.

According to Amiraslanov, electronic declaration, online customs services, digital control and monitoring systems, in short, the complete digitalization of customs control, create conditions for transparency and accountability, giving the impetus to the development of e-government.

"The installation of modern control equipment at Azerbaijan's customs checkpoints not only demonstrates our country's economic power and innovation capabilities but also facilitates the detection of illegal cargo and more reliable protection of our economic borders," he added.
