Azerbaijan to adopt unified ESG standard

Azerbaijan is on the cusp of adopting a unified ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) standard, Natig Hasanov, the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), said.

According to Report, he was speaking at the Commission on Business Environment and International Ratings and the Media Development Agency, focusing on "Communication of Business Environment Reforms and Information on Electronic Government Services."

"This standard will be adopted in the country for the first time. Its adoption is planned for the end of this month or the beginning of the next," Hasanov noted.

ESG standards encompass three central factors in assessing the sustainability and social impact of investments in a company or business.
