Azerbaijan starts selling butter to Uzbekistan

In the first quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 5,668 tons of butter worth $40 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.
This is 43% more in value and 5.4% more in quantity than in the same period last year.
Azerbaijan purchased 2,248 tons of butter (no supplies a year ago) from Iran for $13.9 million, 1,496 tons (-12%) from New Zealand for $11 million (+8%), 386 tons (+25%) from Belarus for 3 million (+66%), 308 tons (no supplies a year ago) from Saudi Arabia for 2.6 million, and 279 tons (+74%) from Ukraine for 2.4 million (+2 times).
During the specified period, Azerbaijan exported 1,721 tons (+40%) of butter worth $12.6 million (+78%).
Azerbaijan sold 1,540 tons (+25%) of butter to Russia for $11.4 million (+62%), 99.8 tons (no supplies a year ago) for $589,000 to Turkmenistan, 80 tons for $531,000 to Uzbekistan, 0.93 tons (-6%) for $9,700 (+1.4%) to Iraq, and 0.66 tons (no supplies a year ago) for $5,200 to Georgia.
This year, for the first time in the last 14 years (note: the official statistics on foreign trade in public use are as of 2011), supplies were made to Uzbekistan.
