Azerbaijan starts importing sesame oil from Singapore

In January-October 2024, Azerbaijan imported 1.17 tons of sesame oil worth $7,560, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

This is 62% less in value and 54% in quantity compared to the same period last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported sesame oil from:

- China: 0.53 tons (-64%) worth $2,420 (-75%);

- Italy: 0.09 tons worth $1,710 (no supply in the previous year);

- Russia: 0.25 tons (-60%) worth $1,650 (-58%);

- Singapore: 0.23 tons worth $1,060;

- Mexico: 0.04 tons (-78%) worth $340 (-85%).

This year, for the first time in the last 13 years (note: official statistics on foreign trade available for public use are until 2011), sesame oil imports were made from Singapore.
