Azerbaijan starts importing corn from China

In January-Aprel 2024, Azerbaijan imported 49,404 tons of corn worth $15.7 million, up 51% and 34%, respectively, year-on-year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 48,000 tons of corn (+51%) from Russia for $9.9 million (-42%), 813 tons (+40%) from Türkiye for $2.5 million (-4%), 124 tons (-12.7%) from Serbia for $797,000 (+7%), 126 tons (+47%) from Romania for $665,000 (+55%), and 86 tons (+65%) from Italy for $496,000 (+54%).
Azerbaijan imported corn from China (0.03 ton worth $400) for the first time in 13 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).
