Azerbaijan starts buying chocolate from two more countries

In January-April 2023, Azerbaijan imported 9,871 tons (2.4% more year-on-year) of chocolate for $36.9 million (26% more YoY), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 5,066 tons of chocolate (-26%) from Russia for $15.4 million (+15%), 1,223 tons (+38%) from Türkiye for $5.4 million (+ 42.4%), 604.9 tons (+18 times) from Poland for $3.8 million (+16 times), 980 tons (+39.5%) from Ukraine for $3 million (+37%), 473 tons (+214 times) from the Netherlands for $2.3 million (+255 times).
This year, for the first time in the last 12 years, Azerbaijan imported chocolate from Kyrgyzstan (2.1 tons for $5,600) and Jordan (0.4 tons for $11,700).
In 2022, Azerbaijan imported 27,518 tons of chocolate (from 44 countries), of which 61% came from Russia, 12% from Türkiye, and 8.4% from Ukraine.
