Azerbaijan starts importing canned beef from Australia

In January-November 2024, Azerbaijan imported 616.3 tons of prepared or preserved beef products worth $1.65 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

This is 13% higher in value and 23% higher in quantity compared to the same period in 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased products from:
- Russia: 587 tons (+65%) worth $1.4 million (94% more than the previous year);
- Belarus: 22 tons (+5%) worth $135,000 (+15%);
- Türkiye: 5 tons (-62%) worth $55,000 (-60%);
- Italy: 0.8 tons worth $16,400 (no supply in the previous year);
- Germany: 1.5 tons (+150 times) worth $5,800 (+65 times).

In 2024, for the first time in the last 13 years (note: official statistics on foreign trade available for public use go up to 2011), Azerbaijan imported canned beef from Australia (0.01 tons worth $1,600).
