Azerbaijan sharply reduces import of frozen beef from key markets

In January-February 2022, Azerbaijan imported 579.7 tons of frozen beef worth $2.61 million, respectively, down 50% and 37% from the previous year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
In the reporting period, the country imported 385 tons of frozen beef worth $1.86 million from Ukraine, 111.98 tons worth $356,430 from India, 78.01 tons worth $315,120 from Brazil, 3.29 tons worth $57,950 from Russia and 0.59 tons worth $14,930 from Argentine.
In 2021, Ukraine accounted for 4,450 tons or 80% of Azerbaijan’s total frozen beef imports, while India – for 14%.
