Azerbaijan sees increase in tobacco export revenue

In 2024, Azerbaijan imported tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes worth $118.788 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Customs Committee.

According to the committee, this figure is 1% less compared to 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan also exported tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes worth $56.684 million - 2.6 times more compared to a year ago.

Last year, tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes accounted for 0.6% of Azerbaijan's total imports and 0.2% of total exports.

In 2024, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations worth $47.612 billion with other countries and this is 7% less compared to 2023.

Of the foreign trade turnover, exports accounted for $26.554 billion, while imports accounted for $21.058 billion. Over the past year, exports decreased by 21.7%, while imports increased by 21.8%.

As a result, foreign trade generated a positive balance of $5.496 billion - 3 times less year-on-year.
