Azerbaijan sees 16% decline in greenhouse tomato production

In 2024, 224,900 tons of tomatoes were produced in greenhouses in Azerbaijan, down 44,000 tons or 16.4% year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

Last year, 3,037 greenhouses, spanning a total area of 1,600 hectares, were operational in the country. However, in 2024, the number of greenhouses decreased by 191 units (5.9%) compared to 2023.

In 2023, there were 3,228 greenhouses with the same total area of 1,600 hectares, producing 268,900 tons of tomatoes.
