Azerbaijan’s vehicle import costs rise by 11%

In the first quarter of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 22,936 vehicles with a total value of $400.252 million, marking a 17.2% rise in number and a 10.9% increase in value year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Customs Committee.

The import of vehicles designed to carry 10 or more passengers, including the driver, grew 3.2 times to 112 units, worth $9.505 million. Passenger cars and other personal-use vehicles rose by 18.9%, totaling 20,946 units valued at $357.333 million.

Among these, 10,120 units ($199.948 million) were hybrids powered by both internal combustion engines and electric motors, showing a 2.8-fold growth. On the other hand, 428 units ($15.558 million) were fully electric vehicles, a decline of 48.4%.

Meanwhile, imports of goods-transporting motor vehicles fell by 2.3% to 1,780 units ($24.608 million), and imports of special-purpose motor vehicles decreased by 6.7% to 98 units, valued at $8.807 million.
