Azerbaijan’s sunflower oil imports from Italy soar

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan imported 10,799 tons of sunflower oil, valued at $13.54 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 8% in volume and 65% in value, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During this period, Azerbaijan purchased sunflower oil from:

- Russia: 10,540 tons (-21%) worth $13.1 million (+13%);

- Türkiye: 242 tons (-15%) worth $418,000 (-3%);

- Italy: 15.6 tons (+2.1 times) worth $35,000 (+2.2 times);

- Belarus: 0.73 tons (-52%) worth $1,310 (-52%);

- Germany: 0.11 tons worth $450 (no supply a year ago).

In 2024, Azerbaijan imported 66,786 tons of sunflower oil, of which 98% came from Russia.
