Azerbaijan’s spending on tobacco imports rises by over 4%

In January-June 2025, Azerbaijan imported tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes, valued at $56.765 million, marking a 4.4% increase year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Customs Committee.
During the first half of the year, Azerbaijan exported tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes worth $24.235 million, which is 7.2% less compared to a year ago.
Imports of tobacco and industrial tobacco substitutes accounted for 0.49% of Azerbaijan's total imports, while exports accounted for 0.19% of total exports.
Overall, Azerbaijan conducted trade transactions with other countries worth $24.4 billion in the first six months of 2025, which is 12.1% more year-on-year.
Of that, $12.878 billion fell to exports and $11.522 billion fell to imports. During this period, exports increased by 0.2 percent, while imports grew by 29.9 percent.
