Azerbaijan’s spending on pharma imports rises by nearly 5%

In January-June 2025, Azerbaijan imported pharmaceutical products worth just under $259.4 million, marking a 4.6% increase year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Customs Committee.
During six months, Azerbaijan also exported pharmaceutical products worth $1.712 million, which is 23.4% less than a year ago.
Imports of pharmaceutical products accounted for 2.25% of Azerbaijan's total imports, and their exports accounted for 0.01% of total exports.
Overall, Azerbaijan conducted trade transactions with other countries worth $24.4 billion in the first six months of 2025, which is 12.1% more year-on-year.
Of that, $12.878 billion fell to exports and $11.522 billion fell to imports. During this period, exports increased by 0.2 percent, while imports grew by 29.9 percent.
