Azerbaijan’s melon imports from China skyrocket

In January-April of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 26.9 tons of melons worth $22,800, representing a year-on-year decrease of 62% and 55%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased melons from:
- Brazil: 8.3 tons (+88%) worth $8,300 (+89%);
- Iran: 9.2 tons (-84%) worth $6,400 (-84%);
- Türkiye: 4.5 tons (-36%) worth $3,100(-36%);
- Costa Rica: 2.9 tons (+15 times) worth $2,900 (+15 times);
- China: 2 tons (+198 times) worth $2,000 (+20 times).
In 2024, 54% of the 177 tons of melons imported to Azerbaijan came from Iran.
