Azerbaijan’s fertilizer imports from Netherlands soar

In January-February of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 23,225 tons of fertilizer (excluding organic fertilizers), valued at $10.3 million, marking an 8% decline in volume and a 20% surge in value year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan purchased fertilizer from:
- Russia: 21,569 tons (-2.3%) worth $6.4 million (+8%);
- Türkiye: 262 tons (-30%) worth $2.4 million (+3.5 times);
- Belgium: 373 tons (+3.4 times) worth $330,000 (+3.3 times);
- The Netherlands: 157 tons (+79 times) worth $253,000 (+74 times);
- Israel: 256 tons (+3.6 times) worth $233,000 (+2.1 times).
In 2024, Azerbaijan imported a total of 160,960 tons of fertilizer, of which 88% came from Russia.
