Azerbaijan's cotton export revenue down by over 11%

In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijan imported cotton worth $4.95 million, 10.8% more compared to the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.

During the specified period, the value of cotton exports from Azerbaijan amounted to $116.96 million, 11.3% less compared to a year ago.

In January-June, cotton imports accounted for 0.04% of Azerbaijan's total imports, while exports accounted for 0.9% of total exports.

In the first half of the year, Azerbaijan conducted trade operations worth $24.4 billion with other countries, 12.1% more compared to the same period last year.

Of the foreign trade turnover, $12.88 billion accounted for exports, and 11.52 billion for imports. Over the past year, exports decreased by 0.2%, while imports increased by 29.9%.

As a result, a positive balance of $1.36 billion emerged in foreign trade, 3 times less in the annual comparison.
