Azerbaijan’s carp imports from Iran doubled in 1H2025

In the first half of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 1,028 tons of carp fish (fresh and frozen) worth 1.8 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 26% and 28%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During the mentioned period, the country purchased 464.5 tons of carp, valued at $1 million from Iran, representing a 2-fold increase both in terms of volume and value compared to a year ago.
Additionally, 563.6 tons of carp worth $762,300 were imported to Azerbaijan from Russia, which is a decline of 5% in volume and 14% in value from the first half of 2024
Overall, 81.4% of the 1,500 tons of carp imported to Azerbaijan in 2024 came from Russia.
