Azerbaijan, Russia discuss increasing throughput at customs posts

A meeting was held between First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC) Ismayil Huseynov and Customs Adviser of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan Georgi Peschanskikh, Report informs referring to the committee.

The meeting discussed the current situation at the Samur, Khanoba customs posts on the Azerbaijani-Russian border, as well as posts on the opposite side, issues of increasing the capacity of customs checkpoints, simplifying procedures.

The meeting also provided information on the construction and installation work carried out at the Khanoba customs post. It was emphasized that with the start of operation of this customs and border checkpoint, the construction of which will be completed this year, the processes of crossing the border between the two countries will, even more, accelerate, increase the volume of transit traffic, and create favorable conditions for easier and more unhindered international trade.
