Azerbaijan resumes sturgeon imports from US

In January-September 2024, Azerbaijan imported 1,206 tons of sturgeon (frozen) worth $2.24 million, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s State Statistical Committee.
This is 1% less in value and 8% in quantity compared to the same period in 2023.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 834 tons (10.6% less than a year ago) worth $902,000 (-9%) from Russia, 90.3 tons (-35%) worth $506,000 (+2.4%) from Poland, 58 tons (+3.6%) worth $248,000 (+3.8%) from China, 32 tons (+45%) worth $242,000 (+45%) from Italy, and 132 tons (+6.3 times) worth $165,000 (+6.6 times) from Estonia.
Azerbaijan has resumed imports from the United States (0.12 tons worth 1,700 US dollars) after six years and four months.
