Azerbaijan resumes rice supplies from Netherlands

In January-November 2024, Azerbaijan imported 60,464 tons of rice worth $62.8 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee’s data.

This is 35% more in value and 19% more in quantity compared to the same period in 2023.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased 43,449 tons (+2%) of rice from India worth $48.95 million (+24%), 5,648 tons (+2.5%) from Pakistan worth $4.94 million (+2.7 times), 3,421 tons (+2.8 times) from Vietnam worth $2.8 million (+2.8 times), 2,186 tons (+4 times) from Kazakhstan worth $1.84 million (+4.5 times), and 2,491 tons (-22%) from China worth $2 million (-23%).

Azerbaijan has resumed supplies from the Netherlands (0.45 tons worth $1,700) after three years and three months.

In 2023, 82.5% of the 54,591 tons of rice imported to Azerbaijan from 25 countries came from India.
