Azerbaijan resumes imports of frozen mackerel from 2 countries

In the first half of 2022, Azerbaijan imported 668.7 tons of mackerel (frozen) for $1.2 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, the mackerel imports decreased by 16.7% in terms of monetary value and by 12.9% in quantity compared to the same period of last year.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 255 tons (-53.6%) of frozen mackerel from Iceland for $433,000 (-56% compared to a year ago), 190.2 tons (+65.8%) from Russia for $305,000(+2, 1 time), 96.3 tons (-7.4%) from Norway for $194,000 (+5.4%), 78 tons from Ireland for $148,000 and 49.2 tons from the UK for $89,000.

Azerbaijan restored the mackerel imports from Ireland after a break of five years and a month and from the UK after 19 months.
