Azerbaijan resumes import of electric cars from Türkiye

In January 2023, Azerbaijan imported 119 electric cars for $5 million, up 9 times and 10 times, respectively, from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 88 cars (+88 times) worth $3.1 million (155 times more than a year ago) from China, 12 cars (no supplies a year ago) from Germany for $1.1 million, 9 cars (+29%) from the United States of America for $329,000 (+52.3%), 4 cars (no changes) from Belgium for $259,000 (+98.1%) and 2 cars (no supplies a year ago) from the Republic of Korea for $93,240.

After a year and 8 months, the supply of electric cars from Türkiye (1 car for $7,300) was resumed.

61% of the 486 electric cars brought to Azerbaijan from abroad (14 countries) last year were imported from China.
