Azerbaijan resumes grape imports from Australia

In January-March 2025, Azerbaijan imported 63 tons of fresh grapes worth $83,510, marking a 2.5-fold surge in volume and a 3-fold increase in value year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased grapes from:

- Uzbekistan: 40.67 tons worth $61,000 (no supply a year ago);

- Peru: 13.33 tons (-7%) worth $13,390 (-7%);

- South Africa: 8.2 tons (+2.5%) worth $8,220 (-21%);

- China: 0.8 tons (+20 times) worth $800 (+2.2 times);

- Australia: 0.01 tons worth $100.

Azerbaijan has resumed grape supplies from Australia after a 1-year and 7-month break.

For comparison, in 2024, 89% of the 736 tons of grapes imported to Azerbaijan came from Iran.
