Azerbaijan resumes canned pea imports from UAE

Azerbaijan imported 1,537 tons of peas (canned and not frozen), valued at $2 million in the initial nine months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

Compared to the corresponding period in 2023, the imports grew by 2.7 percent in volume, while rising by 14 percent in value.

In the specified period, Azerbaijan imported 768 tons (+47%) of canned peas from Hungary worth $1.1 million (+11%), 553 tons (+29%) from Russia worth $688,000 (+4.1%), 159 tons (-48%) from Moldova worth $182,000 (-50%), 55 tons (-77%) from Türkiye worth $55,000 (-83%), 0.35 tons (+3.5 times) from Germany worth $1,230 (+3 times).

After a break of 1 year and 11 months, Azerbaijan resumed canned peas imports from the UAE (0.48 tons worth $640).
