Azerbaijan resumes grapefruit purchases from Israel

In 2024, Azerbaijan imported 1,189 tons of grapefruit, valued at $1.1 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 12% and 10%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan bought grapefruit from:
- Türkiye: 814 tons (+19%) worth $652,000 (+19%);
- South Africa: 349 tons (-0.2%) worth $419,000 (-1%);
- China: 19.6 tons (+48%) worth $29,800 (+43%);
- Thailand: 5 tons (+38%) worth $14,700 (+43%);
- Israel: 1.2 tons worth $1,500 (supply resumed after 6 years and 5 months).
In 2023, 1,100 tons of grapefruit were imported to Azerbaijan from 6 countries, of which 64.6% came from Türkiye and 32.8% from South Africa.
