Azerbaijan imports 95% of hybrid vehicles from one country

For nine months of this year, 8,872 hybrid cars and electric vehicles were delivered to Azerbaijan in the amount of $55,909,000.

According to the calculations of Report, based on the data of the State Statistics Committee, compared to the same period last year, growth in value terms was 93.15%, in quantitative terms - 2.3 times.

During the reporting period, 8,879 units of hybrid vehicles were imported to the country for 53.628 million dollars. This is, respectively, 2.4 times and 2.6 times more than in the same period in 2020.

From Japan, 8,324 cars were imported for the amount of $44,031,000, from the USA 279 cars for the amount of $4,727,000, from Germany 38 cars for the amount of $2,312,000, from the UK, 10 cars for $791,500 dollars. At the same time, 59 units worth $511,900 from Mexico, 5 units worth $447,950 from Slovakia, 40 units worth $298,800 from Korea, 11 units worth $215,190 from Turkey, 6 units worth $128,400 from Canada, 4 units worth $101,500 from the Czech Republic, 1 car worth $25,000 was brought from New Zealand, 1 car worth $18,500 from China and 1 car worth $18,500 from Taiwan.

In January-September 2021, 93 units of electric vehicles were delivered to the country in the amount of $2,281,000. Compared to the same period last year, imports decreased in value terms by 71.55%, in quantitative terms - by 34.51%. The decline is due to the lack of supplies from the UK, which has a share of 85% and 70%, respectively, in total imports of electric vehicles last year.
