Azerbaijan doubles malt imports from Ukraine

In January-February 2025, Azerbaijan imported 2,779 tons of malt (raw material used for beer production) worth $1.6 million, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
This is 14% less in value terms and 1.6% more in quantity compared to the same period last year.
In the first two months of 2025, Azerbaijan imported 2,054 tons (+70% YoY) of malt from Russia for $931,000 (+56%), 529 tons (+0.2%) from Germany for $576,000 (-12%), 135 tons (2 times more) from Ukraine for $78,000 (+81%), 59 tons (-93%) from Kazakhstan for $40,000 (-93%), and 0.8 tons (no supply a year ago) from Belgium for $1,400.
In 2024, 63% of the 18,434 tons of malt imported to Azerbaijan came from Russia.
