Azerbaijan begins urea exports to Uruguay

In January-May 2025, Azerbaijan exported 269,442 tons of urea, valued at $78.9 million, marking a year-on-year increase of 27% and 97%, respectively, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
During this period, Azerbaijan sold urea:
- Ukraine: 188,151 tons (+98%) worth $56.3 million (+3 times);
- Canada: 44,249 tons worth $12.5 million (no supply a year ago);
- Argentina: 22,408 tons worth $6.1 million (no supply a year ago);
- Romania: 5,072 tons (-84%) worth $1.4 million (-75%);
- Uruguay: 5,010 tons worth $1.35 million.
In 2025, Azerbaijan exported urea to Uruguay for the first time in 14 years, according to publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
In 2024, the country exported 564,922 tons of carbamide, of which 50% went to Ukraine.
