Azerbaijan begins importing electric vehicles from Austria

In 2024, Azerbaijan imported 3,027 electric vehicles, valued at $121.6 million, marking a decrease of 2% in number and 3% in value year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During the reporting period, Azerbaijan purchased electric vehicles from:

- China: 2,314 units (-10%) worth $82.3 million (-9%);

- Germany: 235 units (-15%) worth $16.5 million (-34%);

- The US: 352 units (+2.4 times) worth $10.15 million (+2.2 times);

- The UK: 23 units (+3.8 times) worth $9.1 million (+7.5 times);

- Belgium: 15 units (-25%) worth $1 million (-25%)

In 2024, Azerbaijan supplied electric vehicles from Austria (3 units worth $445,500) for the first time in 13 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.

Meanwhile, in 2023, the country imported 3,102 electric vehicles from 14 countries, of which 82.6% came from China.
