Azerbaijan begins exporting methanol to Cyprus

In 2024, Azerbaijan exported 474,066 tons of methanol, valued at $104.4 million, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
Despite a 5% drop in volume, the value of exports rose by 16% compared to 2023.
Last year, Azerbaijan sold methanol to:
- The Netherlands: 116,120 tons (+72%) worth $26.1 million (+2.2 times);
-Türkiye: 102,138 tons (-8%) worth $21.7 million (+4.4%);
- Italy: 75,742 tons (-3%) worth $16.9 million (+24%);
- Romania: 55,225 tons (-36%) worth $12.3 million (-24%);
- Israel: 51,276 tons (+2.3 times) worth $11.2 million (+2.8 times).
In 2024, Azerbaijan exported methanol to Cyprus (6,157 tons worth $1.7 million) for the first time in 13 years, based on publicly available foreign trade statistics dating back to 2011.
Meanwhile, in 2023, the country exported 501,571 tons of methanol to 10 countries, of which 22% fell to Türkiye, 17.1% to Romania, and 15.5% to Italy.
