Azerbaijan and Singapore explore best practices in tax administration

The State Tax Service under Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economy discussed best practices for improving tax administration with the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), Report informs.

According to the State Tax Service, the Head of the State Tax Service, President of the European Organization of Intra-European Tax Administrations (IOTA) Orkhan Nazarli held a video conference with IRAS CEO Ow Fook Chuen.

The meeting discussed expanding the scope of bilateral and multilateral relations, priorities for cooperation in the field of tax administration, and the creation of a legal and regulatory framework. During the meeting, views were exchanged on issues such as risk management within the framework of tax operations between our countries, mutual information exchange, digital tax administration, effective fight against tax fraud and tax evasion, etc. At the same time, the need to further strengthen bilateral relations in the field of taxation was emphasized, and best practices in improving administration were reviewed.

Nazarli invited the Singaporean official to participate in the organization's 29th Assembly to be held in Baku.
