Afghanistan wants to become bridge between Central, South Asia

Afghanistan is ready to become a bridge between Central and South Asia by utilizing its geostrategic position, Tawakal Ahmadyar, Chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said at the 6th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) business forum, Report informs.

"Achieving this goal requires political will, legal facilitations, and comprehensive regional support," the official noted.

According to Ahmadyar, regional cooperation will not only contribute to sustainable economic growth but also strengthen solidarity among friendly and neighboring countries.

"Afghanistan puts forward these proposals to strengthen cooperation. First, joint regional financial funds should be established to support investment and trade in developed countries. Second, customs procedures at key border crossings such as Torkham and Chaman should be improved and transit facilitated through multilateral agreements. Third, banking and digital infrastructure should be strengthened to ensure smoother financial and commercial connections between member states. Fourth, the International Road Transport system should be fully implemented to reduce transportation costs, increase security, and enhance transparency," he stated.
