25 Czech companies operating in Azerbaijan

There are 25 Czech companies operating in Azerbaijan in the fields of agriculture, industry, transport, construction, trade, and services, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Economy Ministry.

This was highlighted during a roundtable held in Prague with the participation of Czech businessmen as part of Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov's visit to the Czech Republic.

Jabbarov emphasized that relations between the two countries are based on mutual trust and common strategic priorities.

It was noted that the Joint Declaration on Strategic Partnership signed in 2015 is important for the development of long-term cooperation. Economic and trade relations with the Czech Republic are developing. In January-June 2025, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to approximately $485 million.

The "Agreement on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments" signed in 2011 creates a solid legal framework for joint projects and capital flows.

The meeting highlighted the effective cooperation potential with the Czech Republic in energy, transport, industry, trade, and other areas. Detailed information was provided about Azerbaijan's favorable business and investment environment, Alat Free Economic Zone (AFEZ), industrial parks, and opportunities created for investors in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, as well as transport and transit potential.

Czech businessmen were invited to actively cooperate.

At the event, David Müller, Director General at the Section of European Union and Foreign Trade of the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, emphasized his country's mutually beneficial cooperation relations with Azerbaijan.

Extensive opportunities for partnership in various directions, including strengthening cooperation between the business circles of the two countries, were noted. It was stated that Czech companies are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Discussions on promoting business relations were held at the roundtable.

Presentations on the activities and products of Czech companies such as Chemoprojekt, Czechoslovak Group, Mavel, Omnipol, Škoda, TES VSETIN, VSL Group Activities were held at the event, and questions were answered.
