Rasim Balayev: Announcement of Year of Nasimi in Azerbaijan is a great value given to art

Baku. 14 January. REPORT.AZ/ Hundreds of newborns were given Nasimi's name after the film about him was released, Report informs citing People's Artist of Azerbaijan Rasim Balayev.

According to him, he receives congratulations on the announcement of 2019 as “Year of Nasimi” in Azerbaijan: "I have proposals from TV channels, however I reject for some reasons. However, recently 30-40 people have congratulated me on this occasion. I ask: "Why do you congratulate me? They answered that when it is said Nasimi, everyone recalls you. Of course, it's a pleasure for me. I remember that at the initiative of Heydar Aliyev, Nasimi's 600th anniversary was included in the UNESCO list of events for the first time, and was celebrated on the international scale in 1973. People learned more Nizami Ganjavi, Muhammed Fuzuli than Nasimi. After that initiative various events were organized, books were published, the portrait of Nasimi was prepared. "Nasimi" movie was a little delayed for the 600th anniversary of the poet. "

Balayev said: "He is a poet of the Turkic world. Our researchers proved that Nasimi is an Azerbaijani.  When I was in Iran, thay said that Nizami was their poet. I told them, at least, pay attention to the word "Ganjali" in his surname. This is a great value given to art by the President. It is an opportunity to introduce Nasimi both to the world and ourselves. It is necessary to spread his philosophical ideas to the world, not just to promote it. Probably, various events, scientific conferences, seminars will be held in this regard, experts will arrive from around the world. If I am invited I will go and watch."
