Baku. 21 August. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan will take part in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 to be held in Minsk, Belarus.
Report informs quoting foreign media that the decision was taken by jury in 2017.
List of the participants has already been announced. Number of countries this year is more than previous year. The participating countries are Azerbaijan, Albania, Armenia, Australia, Belarus, France, Macedonia, Georgia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Netherlands, Wales and Ukraine. According to the rules, 18 countries can take part in the contest. This year, however, the organizers allowed Israel, the winner of the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, to take part in the junior version of the contest.
A rising star was chosen as the Junior Eurovision 2018 logo. Maksim Bukas, the author of the logo, pictured it in the form of vertically upturned sound waves. The designer was inspired by Maksim Bogdanovich’s poem Zorka Venera (Venus the Star).
The slogan this year is the hashtag #LightUp.
