Majnun Mammadov: Azerbaijan should develop policy focused on farmers

A policy focused on farmers should be formed in Azerbaijan, Minister Majnun Mammadov said at a seminar organized within the 4th Agriculture and Forestry Council in Ankara, Report informs.
He noted that 1.3 billion people work in the agricultural sector in the world, which is more than 20% of the employed population worldwide.
"From this point of view, the first and main aspect that agricultural diplomacy should pay attention to is farmers. If their standard of living does not improve, it will be difficult for agricultural diplomacy to achieve good results," he said.
Mammadov met with Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat and Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Yumakli yesterday within the seminar.
