Germany will provide an additional 10 million euros to ensure the supply of grain from Ukraine in coordination with the World Food Program (WFP), German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said, Report informs citing the DPA.

In a video message circulated on November 26, Scholz stated that "hunger should never again be used as a weapon."

"That's why we cannot accept what we are experiencing right now: the worst global food crisis in recent years with devastating consequences for millions of people - from Afghanistan to Madagascar, from the Sahel to the Horn of Africa," said the head of the German government.

He stressed that Germany welcomes the successful efforts of the UN to extend the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

A WFP vessel sent with German support is now on its way to deliver Ukrainian grain to Ethiopia. At the Group of Seven (G7) summit, held in Germany, the G7 countries allocated another $4.5 billion to ensure global food security and prevent hunger.
