Cocoon growing season starts in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture has announced the start of the cocoon growing season in 2025, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Today at the Gakh station of pedigree sericulture, silkworm seeds were distributed to silkworm breeders from 40 regions located in the plain and foothill zones.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister Sarvan Jafarov, heads of the relevant structural divisions of the ministry, the leadership of the Executive Authority of the Gakh region, directors of the State Centers for Agricultural Development (SCAD), farmers from various regions, as well as media representatives.

In total, after incubation until May 5, some 5,500 boxes of silkworm seeds were handed over to silkworm breeders.

The process of distributing seeds among farmers continues.
