Azerbaijan strengthening mechanism for monitoring agricultural subsidies

Control measures will be strengthened in Azerbaijan for agricultural subsidies, preferential loans, leasing mechanisms, as well as the sale of agricultural production equipment on preferential terms, Report informs.

In this regard, it is proposed to supplement the Tax Code with a new article (30.6.18). The draft amendments will be considered at the plenary session of the Azerbaijani Parliament on April 1.

According to the project, centralized food purchases (except for products purchased for the state reserve) at the expense of the state budget will also be included in the control framework.

The Ministry of Agriculture and its subordinate institutions will control the provision of subsidies, preferential loans and leasing operations, their financing, as well as the targeted use of these funds.
