Azerbaijan starts supplying onions to Saudi Arabia

Azerbaijan exported 21,133 tons of onions (93%) worth $6.2 million (+2 times) in January-September of this year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan delivered 5,506 tons (+99.5%) worth $2.27 million (+90%) to Russia, 6,758 tons (+8 times) worth $2.1 million (+9 times) to Ukraine, 8,403 tons (+21%) worth $1.71 million (+28%) to Georgia, 190.33 tons (no export last year) worth $48,210 to Moldova, and 103.7 tons (-55%) worth $30,920 (-47%) to Belarus.

Azerbaijan exported onions to Saudi Arabia (1 ton worth $12,000) for the first time in 12 years (official statistics on foreign trade in open access since 2011).

Some 65.8% of the 12,939 tons of onions exported to 9 countries last year were sold to Georgia.
