Azerbaijan sees decrease in cost of wheat imports from its main supply market

In January-November 2023, Azerbaijan imported 1.9 million tons of wheat worth $281.3 million, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.
This is 29% less than in the same period in 2022 in value terms and 6% in quantitative terms.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 938,246 tons of wheat (+3%) worth $230.2 million (26% less than a year earlier) from Russia and 152,405 tons (-40%) worth $51 million (-41%) from Kazakhstan.
Of 1.289 million tons of wheat imported to Azerbaijan from Russia, Kazakhstan and Türkiye in 2022, 78.2% came from Russia.
